The three most important events in Düsseldorf which are the highlights of its tradition are:

the carnival in February, also called the fifth season, the Schützenfeste (marksmen’s festivals) that take place in the different quarters and the biggest funfair on the Rhine in July, as well as the Christmas markets that starts at the end of November where you can taste the famous hot red wine spiced with cinnamon sticks, cloves and sugar.
